Under the Health and Social Care Act 2008, Clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) and NHS England must involve patients and carers in decisions which relate to their care or treatment. This requires collaboration and to recognise the expertise and contribution made by all. The duty requires CCGs to ensure that they commission services which promote involvement of patients across the full spectrum of prevention or diagnosis, care planning, treatment and care management. Judging by the documents listed below. This has not happened and therefore all listed below have acted unlawfully.
In osteoarthritis, also known as degenerative arthritis. A delayed diagnosis has very little impact on the progression of the disease. That is not the same with Inflammatory/rheumatoid arthritis . To reference the NICE Guidelines on treating tendonopathy. The Newham MSK service is commissioned by Newham CCG/NEL CCG and is a partnership of services provided by Barts Health Trust, the NHS Homerton Hospital , ELFT – East London Foundation Trust and the independent BMI Group. I want to end with the reminder that I was treated by Newham MSK for 15 months from 2018 to Spring 2019. Where the MSK is an acronym for Muscular Skeletal. Where tendons are an integral part of our muscles. Yet no-one in Newham MSK service recognised the tendonopathy, so my treatment for the imaginary osteorarthrits was to walk and exercise. This is contraindicated in tendonopathy. So my ‘excellent’ treatment just created more tendon damage, which caused more restricted movement and generated more pain.
