When the NHS, Regulators or Commissioners suggest that the Service User is in some way responsible for the ‘misery and pain “. This is Blame and Shame at work. Trying to make you feel ashamed of your inadequacies is just another path to power. You have the right to safe and dignified treatment.
The NHS service will use ‘Blame & Shame’ to guilt you into:
• Allowing them to make decisions without your involvement. In the ‘Parent knows best’ mode.
• Lecture you. Making it clear they think you’re beneath them.
• Order you to follow their plan. Or they will discharge you.
A lack of access to safe treatment can be:
* anxiety provoking
* cause suffering
That is why it is so important, to check the accuracy of healthcare records. Via a Subject Access Request.Then, if necessary, Amend the Medical Records. The more factual the medical information. The less Blame or Shame ‘ammunition’ they will have to fire at the Service User.
