Depression is often used as a way to protect you from further disappointment at your feelings of being overwhelmed and helpless. When you struggle to find hope in your future.
Depression and hopelessness are powerful emotions that can affect the way you see:
▶️ others and
▶️ your role or place in the world.
⏯This can leave you feeling
▶️ sad and blue (depression).
▶️ you feel you are worthless.
▶️ you feel as if it is not within your power to change your life for the better.
⏯ Through no fault of your own, when you feel:
▶️ low in mood,
▶️hopeless and
▶️ powerless.
This causes more communication crossed wires and conflict. The extra and unnecessary effort to make yourself understood, often ends up depleting your energy, your joy of life and your motivation to engage in the NHS Complaints handling process.
⏯ This veil of depression can lead to changes in your conversation brain. Which makes clear and useful two way communication very difficult as:
▶️ your conversation brain may misinterpret what was said
or
▶️ the stress memory and veil of depression hides the true picture of events.
Being betrayed by the NHS, shatters your assumptions about the safety and goodness of the world. You feel helpless and if the caring NHS is
untrustworthy, then it is safe to assume that the rest of the world is a dangerous place.
You may feel that the NHS et al has forsaken you in your time of need. If you have been made to feel that you are:
▶️ not worthy of care or
▶️ an logical and honest explanation after investigating your complaint.
▶️ You may feel the only way to keep yourself safe is to take yourself out of the treatment cycle or complaint equation to protect yourself from further pain and rejection.
But isolating yourself and walking away from the answers you need to find resolution and closure. Will just end up adding to your feelings of powerlessness and stress levels.
